RCMP say smugglers using unsuspecting Cornwall, Ont. couriers

CORNWALL, Ont. - Some Cornwall-area courier workers were unknowingly delivering more than just parcels say RCMP.

Police say they seized over 300 bags of contraband cigarettes this week.

Police believe smugglers hid the boxes on local courier trucks headed for Alberta and British Columbia.

The company called authorities as soon as it found the packages.

RCMP spokesperson Michael Harvey says this style of trafficking is getting more popular with over a half-dozen cases reported in the past year.
