Family Fishing Weekend set

Activities planned on Sunday at Alice Lake

Operating on the premise that a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, the Father’s Day weekend coincides with B.C. Family Fishing Weekend, with events planned at Alice Lake Provincial Park.

Freshwater fishing is free in B.C.’s lakes and streams Friday through Sunday (June 15 to 17). Festivities are planned at Alice Lake on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., including a visit from B.C. Parks mascot Jerry the Moose, free loaner fishing rods, face painting and prizes.

As well, conservation officers and representatives of B.C. Parks, Bear Aware and the Squamish Valley Rod and Gun club will be on hand with information and hands-on activities.
