Motor stolen from business

RCMP files for the week of July 10th - July 16th, 2012

On Wednesday, July 11, Police received a report of a theft of an outboard motor from a business located in the 39000 block of Galbraith Road. The theft occurred sometime on July 5 during business hours.

Also on Wednesday, Squamish RCMP were contacted from a man with a report that he saw a female inside his vehicle and that the female was with two other people. The vehicle was parked in the 40000 block of Highlands Way North. The three suspects fled before police arrival and did not steal anything. One of the suspects was in her teens, and was a Caucasian female with a pony tail, according to police.

On Wednesday, police also received a report of a theft from a vehicle parked in the lot at Shannon Falls. A rear window was smashed and a bag was stolen which contained a wallet, cash, debit card and clothing.

On Thursday July 12, police received a report of a theft from a vehicle parked in the lot at the Stawamus Chief.  A side window was smashed and a passport was stolen.

On Saturday July 14 in the early evening, officers from Sea to Sky Traffic Services were conducting a road safety road block at Squamish Valley Road and Government Road. A vehicle was stopped and one of the officers approached the lone male driver. The driver displayed symptoms of impairment by alcohol. The driver provided samples of his breath to an alcohol screening device which resulted in a “Warn”.  The driver was issued a three-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition.  The driver is a 42-year-old Squamish resident.

On Saturday July 14 at 11:30 p.m. police responded to a report of a domestic assault in the 40000 block of Government Road. At the scene, police observed the victim on the ground and the suspect crying. Police spoke to a 32-year-old Squamish resident who advised that during an argument with her boyfriend she had became physical with him.  The 34-year-old victim sustained large lacerations on his face and also scratches around his neck and cheeks.The female was arrested and later released on a Promise to Appear with Undertaking to attend North Vancouver Provincial Court on September 5, 2012.
