Movie buffs enjoy an outdoor screening at Lost Lake. The RMOW and Whistler Film Festival Society are teaming up to showcase movies at Olympic Plaza this summer.

Film buffs will have a reason to celebrate this summer after the RMOW announced it will show movies in Whistler Olympic Plaza as part of its summer entertainment lineup.

Celestial Cinema will form part of the Whistler Presents summer program with the films being selected by the Whistler Film Festival Society for a mix the whole family can enjoy.

"There's something special about watching a great movie outside under the stars," said Paul Gratton, Whistler Film Festival Society's Director of Programming in a press release. "We look forward to presenting films that are a mix of crowd pleasers, audience and critic favorites this summer in Whistler as we gear up for our twelfth edition of the film festival."

The screenings will be held on Wednesdays throughout August beginning at 8 p.m. and moviegoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks. In the event of inclement weather the screening will be moved to Millennium Place.

Films include Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris next Wednesday (Aug. 1), The Whale on Aug. 8 and Marley on Aug. 22.
