Loggers Lane signage posted

Issue a safety concern, says district

Parking along Loggers Lane in downtown Squamish isn't safe and now it's illegal, a District of Squamish official says.

Last week, municipal staff installed “no parking” signage on Loggers Lane between Victoria and Main streets. People were parking their vehicles on the narrow lane, particularly on Saturdays when Squamish has its farmers' market, Christie Smith said.

It's not a safe place to park, as it is a busy road that hosts trucks from the log sort, she noted. Vehicles found along that stretch of road can now be ticketed, Smith warned.
