EDITOR,
In recent weeks the trials of the Squamish Food Bank have been prominent in the minds of those in community concerned with food resources. Tuesday (Sept. 25) at 7 p.m. at the Alano Club is the food bank society AGM. I have found with so many efforts in community, the struggle for an individual is to just show up. There seems to be a cosmic resistance to this simple task. Without fail, the daily disaster will appear just as you are heading out the door. I have found the effort worthy of the determination one must have. The Squamish Food Bank is in a crisis and we are struggling to co-ordinate a path forward. Our determination as a community is our foundation. This is evidenced in our many civic amenities and organizations. Those of us who do show up know this well. There will be a path forward for the food bank in response to our community in need. You have to decide if you can show up.
