Column missed the mark

EDITOR,

Re. “Building more political walls,” Reporter’s Notebook, Chief, Sept. 20.

Rebecca Aldous should bone up on her historical and current events in Iran. The Canadian government was right in pulling our diplomats out of Iran and expelling the Iranian gangsters in their Ottawa embassy. Recent events in the Middle East support these actions. Canada should close our embassies in all those Middle East countries that cannot control their lunatic fringe. As for Iran, they have admitted their Revolutionary Guard are on the ground in Syria supporting that murderous regime. Their leader denies the Holocaust (a crime in Canada). They are developing nuclear weapons. They are committed to destroying our friend Israel. By closing our embassy, Canada is sending the right message. We will not legitimize your totalitarian regime and we support Israel.
