History lesson needed

Re. “Column missed the mark,” Letters, Chief, Sept. 27.

William Barnes needs to bone up on the history of conflict in the Middle East, and perhaps in some basic humanity. More than getting the “gangsters” out of our embassies, may be it’s time to get the Canadian army out of Afghanistan. Frankly, the West is riled up by Iran, because unlike other Arab rulers who wag their tail before Western leaders, Iran stands up to the West. People in the Middle East admire that.
