Heavy rains put a damper on Week 6 action in the Howe Sound Men’s Soccer League.
The first downpour-filled weekend of the fall saw both early games cancelled as both the Sikh Temple vs. Automind and B&B Excavating vs. Zephyr games were turned into friendly matches after poor conditions on the field.
The skies cleared up slightly for the afternoon game as the Ellis Moving Eagles defeated Lilwat FC 2-1. Nathan Ward scored both goals for the Eagles, who improved to four wins and one loss and are now tied for second with Galileo.
HSMSL action continues on Sunday (Oct. 21) with Automind taking on Zephyr and the Ellis Moving Eagles challenging Galileo in a battle for second place. The late game will see Sikh Temple battle Lilwat FC.
