Open house at SSC

Squamish Squash Club hosting free event

The Squamish Squash Club (SSC) is opening its doors to the public on Saturday (Jan. 12).

The SSC’s annual open house event will take place at the club, 2458 Mamquam Rd., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free event is open to those wanting to try the game for the first time or people interested in re-connecting with the sport.

Instruction from club veterans and equipment will be provided for all newcomers. The SSC has two courts, change rooms and a viewing area. All interested are asked to pre-register by getting in touch with club representatives at ssc@squamishsquashclub.com.

The next big event for the SSC is the annual Sea to Sky Tournament, Feb. 15 to 17. The three-day event attracts squash players from all over the Sea to Sky Corridor and the Lower Mainland and offers big prizes for all winners.

In addition to tournaments, the club also regularly hosts junior programs on Wednesdays, ladies nights on Thursdays and drop in nights for all members on Fridays.
