Allan Clowers recently entered a draw at Save-On Foods for two tickets to the show “An Evening with Oprah Winfrey.” After the Squamish man’s name was drawn, Clowers was more pleased for his mother and sister than he was for himself.
“I entered because I thought it sounded good for my mother,” Clowers said on Friday (Jan. 18). “She likes that kind of thing, and I’m giving it to her.”
Tonight (Thursday, Jan. 24), Clowers’ mother June Ingram and his sister Valerie, both Squamish residents, will attend the show at Rogers Arena. What’s more, winners of the contest — which was run at all stores operated by the Jim Pattison Food Group, including the local Save-On and Nesters — will have a chance to meet the well-known talk-show host and actress backstage.
The name of the winner of the draw at the Nesters Squamish store was unavailable at press time.
