Squamish police seized the drug meth this month, similar to the picture above.

Police found drugs, drug-related paraphernalia and a “quantity of cash” on a 56-year-old Squamish woman after she was stopped on Sunday (Jan. 20) at around 12:30 a.m., while Sea to Sky Traffic Services was conducting a roadblock on Guilford Dr. Police seized a quantity of individually packaged methamphetamine from the woman, who is well known to local RCMP. During the follow up investigation, police also seized three rifles and two shotguns from the suspect's residence.

Residential break and enter

On Tuesday (Jan. 15) at about 8:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a male breaking into a garage at a residence in the 1100 block of Victoria St. The male fled the scene empty handed shortly before police arrived, but was located hiding in bushes a short distance away. A 34-year-old male, who was well known to police, was arrested and also charged with a breach of his probation from similar crimes.

Theft from vehicle

On Wednesday (Jan. 16), police received a report of a vehicle being broken into while parked at the Shannon Falls parking lot between 12:00 and 1:35 pm. A black bag was stolen, containing two Taiwanese passports, $2,000 to 3,000 in U.S. dollars, and $2000 Canadian. A possible suspect was described as a 30-year-old male wearing black pants and a black jacket, possibly in an older model dark or red-coloured car.

Suspicious fire

Police attended a structure fire in the 1200 block of Village Green Way on Wednesday (Jan. 16) at around 4:15 p.m. Firefighters were at the scene already dealing with a construction trailer that was in flames. The circumstances surrounding the cause have been deemed suspicious. A witness reported seeing a male in the lot where the trailer was located prior to the fire being discovered.
