The Squamish Eagles Bantam Rep hockey team pose with their winning banner earlier this month. The team will now head to the playoffs starting later this week.

The Squamish Eagles Bantam rep team continued its impressive run earlier this month, capturing the regular season league banner for Flight 5.

The Eagles were awarded the banner after the team’s regular season finale in Surrey on Feb. 2.

The team has complied a record of 23 wins, three losses and four ties in combined exhibition, tiering and league games. Head coach Joe Webber pointed out that goalie Nevin Sandhu has been strong all season, posting a sparkling 1.85 goals-against average.

Forward Nolan Welsh leads the team with 35 goals and 56 points in the team’s 30 combined games, with Harmen Vining contributing 41 points and Owen Hart adding 33. Ben Raffler is the club’s top scoring rearguard, with 24 points, with defenceman Liam Long leading the team in penalty minutes with 74.

The playoffs loom for the Eagles, with the team’s opponents being determined in the coming week. The Bantam’s regular home game slot is Monday’s at 7:15 p.m. and they encourage all fans to come check out playoff action.
