Squamish Valley Music Festival lineup revealed

Queens of the Stone Age, Vampire Weekend headlining SVMF

Squamish residents can now officially get ready to rock after lineup details were announced for the Squamish Valley Music Festival on Friday (March 1).

Rockers Queens of the Stone Age and indie band Vampire Weekend are the top two names for the festival, taking place this year on Aug. 9 and 10 at the Loggers Sports Grounds.

Other top acts scheduled to appear include: hip hop group Jurassic 5, rapper Macklemore, Vancouver singer-songwriter Dan Mangan and Seattle rockers Band of Horses.

Queens of the Stone Age are set to release their new album in June and drums on the new album will be performed by founding member and former Nirvana member Dave Grohl.

Vampire Weekend's new album, entitled Modern Vampires of the Weekend is set to be released on May 6. Meanwhile, Macklemore will be performing on Saturday Night Live tomorrow night.
