Authorities have issued a wildlife alert after a bobcat described as “aggressive” chased an off-leash dog on a trail in Alice Lake Provincial Park on Saturday (Sept. 21).
The incident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. along the popular Four Lakes Trail between Fawn and Edith lakes, District of Squamish and Conservation Officer Service officials said in a statement.
This is the second such alert authorities have issued about a bobcat chasing a dog in the past two weeks.
“In an effort to mitigate the potential for wildlife conflicts, we would like to remind everyone to keep dogs on leash. We can expect to encounter wildlife within all areas of Squamish; please make noise while out on the trails, be alert and aware at all times,” officials said.
