Eagle feather thank yous to the community who helped the recent Dinner for the Needy at Squamish Totem Hall.
First of all Eagle feather thank you Squamish Chief for sharing the news as our community came together to share a turkey dinner and to have Santa Claus come for the needy. We all enjoyed the New Voices of the Youth, who came together to sing traditional songs of the Skomish People.
Eagle feather thanks for the donations from Greg Gardner, Squamish Savings, the Dollar Store plus Justin Ferster (owner) and Chances Casino, and Salvation Army, Darcy Reimer and their church and families who volunteered. Myself and granddaughter Carmen Gabriel did a gingerbread table for children. Rosie George and friend cooked the dinner and the Menkis Youth Group volunteered to help at the event. I am proud of our community to do this traditional gathering of giving back to our community. And we cannot forget Alice Guss, who started the annual event.
