After a successful debut last year, The Drop is back in Squamish for New Year’s Eve.
But this year the party has moved from the CN Roundhouse Centre to the Cliffside Pub.
It all gets underway at the Cliffside starting at 8 p.m. and the party doesn’t stop until 3 a.m. The night features Basscoast DJ Sam Demoe and Phil David from the SlowDJs plus several other promised guests.
Champagne is served at midnight and the food menu also is available until midnight. The early bird ticket rate for the event is $15 until quantities last, with the price going up to $20 after. Tickets are available at the Cliffside or online at www.facebook.com/thedropnye.
The Drop is one of several different party spots that Squamish residents can hit up on the final evening of 2013.
Over at The Living Room, they’re planning a white out on New Year’s Eve.
The popular restaurant and lounge is hosting the NYE White Party and Squamish residents are invited to be part of an elegant evening of food, drink and dancing. DJ Craiger will play tunes all night long and there is a midnight champagne toasting scheduled. White attire is mandatory and the event kicks off at 7 p.m.
Tickets to the event are $50 for the Gala ticket, which includes a three-course meal, champagne and dancing or $15 for a Lounge ticket, which has no meal included. Tickets are available in person at The Living Room and for more information call (604) 815-0999.
DJ Poundz will spin at the first-ever New Year’s Eve Party at the Jumping Seagle Bar and Grill. A cover charge of $12 will get you a drink, party favours and champagne at midnight. There is also an option to have dinner for $35 and that covers a meal and the entrance fee.
Dinner is served from 5 to 10 p.m., with Poundz playing from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. The Sea to Sky Hotel is also offering a special rate of $76 for the evening, which includes a breakfast for two the next morning.
The Spice Root kitchen and bar is celebrating the arrival of 2014 with beats by DJ Sprout and a buffet dinner. Tickets to the event are $45 and it includes a two hour buffet from 8 to 10 p.m., appetizers on arrival and a toast drink at midnight.
The event goes from 7:30 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. and for more information call the restaurant at (604) 567-2772.
Those wanting to avoid cover fees can check out the Shady Tree Pub, as they will have a special of $14.99 on Steak and Lobster, as well as many other dinner deals starting at 5 p.m.
The Ruddy Duck will host a number of performers in what the bar and grill is calling its House Party 2014. The Offroaders hit the stage from 8 to 9:30 p.m., followed by DJs Kit Kat, Adam Bomb, Beatkeeper, Milton, Crippledwheel and Smooth Sound on four turntables from 9:30 p.m. until the early morning. Cover for the event is $10 and they promise several drink specials.
At the Howe Sound Brew Pub it’ll be a throwback evening, as they’re hosting the Anti-Prohibition New Year’s Eve Party. The pub is encouraging 1920s-style dress and there is a $15 cover charge for the event.
There are also dinner-for-two packages available for $39, which includes entry to the party and a $59 package that includes dinner, champagne and entry to the party. Tickets are available at the front desk in advance.
Chances Casino will ring in the New Year by inviting Squamish residents to check out the new Match Eatery and Public House. The British-themed pub will host The Overcomers starting at 9 p.m. and there will be no cover charge. However, they will serve a five-course meal and champagne special for $50.
In the casino, there will be hot seat draws on the machines all night long and “monster” bingo in the evening. For more details, visit www.matchpub.com.
Pepe and Gringo’s has a New Year’s Eve dinner with live music by local talent Cam Salay and the SquamTones. The featured dinner special is filet mignon with king crab.
