The winter break is over for the Howe Sound Menís Soccer League (HSMSL), but the time off didnít affect the performance of B&B Excavating.
The defending champs posted a 5-1 win over Galileo on Sunday (Feb. 16) and took over sole possession of first place in the league.
B&B got two goals from Jag Sangha, and singles from Jared Bir, Gary OíNeil and Rory Fulber. Alexis Fernandez scored the lone goal for Galileo.
The win improves B&B to six wins, three losses and one tie and the team has a three-point lead over second place Galileo.
In the afternoon game, the Ellis Moving Eagles and Sikh Temple played to a 3-3 tie. Temple trailed 3-1 at the half but fought back to earn a single point.
Mark Kane, Jamie Kawchuk and an own goal were credited to the Eagles, with Nevin Benning (two) and Gurpreet Rai scoring for Temple.
The Eagles and Temple are tied for third place with 15 points apiece but the Eagles have one game in hand. HSMSL action continues on Sunday (Feb. 23) with Ocean Sun battling Galileo and the Eagles challenging B&B.
