NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. - A former employee of a group home in western Saskatchewan will learn in May whether a judge has found her guilty or innocent of assaulting and administering a noxious substance to a severely disabled resident.
Ashley Marie Johnson was a part-time care worker at the home in North Battleford when the alleged incidents happened in March of 2011.
Sylene Piatt, who was 22 at the time, suffered some non-life threatening injuries, but has made a full recovery.
It is alleged that Johnson put lemon juice in Piatt's eye and forced her to chew whole peppercorns, but Johnson denies this.
The judge will deliver his verdict on May 8.
