TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (12,650.87 down 50.76 points):

Bankers Petroleum Ltd. Oil and gas. Up 10 cents, or 3.64 per cent, at $2.85 on 6,351,931 shares.

Argonaut Gold Inc. Miner. Up 24 cents, or 3.11 per cent, at $7.95 on 5,972,486 shares.

Suncor Energy Corp. Oil and gas. Down 58 cents, or 1.82 per cent, at $31.37 on 5,363,741 shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Down six cents, or 1.49 per cent, at $3.98 on 4,577,919 shares.

Osisko Mining Corp. (TSX:OSK). Miner. Unchanged at $6.20 on 4,556,402 shares.

Celtic Exploration Ltd. (TSX:CLT). Oil and gas. Down four cents, or 0.15 per cent, at $27.03 on 4,259,671 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,141 down 3.68 points):

Donnybrook Energy Inc. (TSXV:DEI). Down three cents, or 54.55 per cent, at 8.5 cents on 7,664,900 shares.

IROC Energy Services Corp. (TSXV:ISC). Oilfield services. Down two cents, or 0.68 per cent, at $2.93 on 4,703,825 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Agrium Inc. (TSX:AGU). Fertilizer. Down eight cents, or 0.08 per cent, at $103.06 on 715,029 shares. The fertilizer giant made public the terms of a settlement deal with Jana Partners LLC that it says could have ended a bitter proxy fight two weeks ago, but ultimately remained unsigned. The New York hedge fund quickly fired back, saying Jana's intentions have been mischaracterized as it agreed to neither the settlement nor the language in a joint news release on Monday.

Saputo Inc. (TSX:SAP). Down 20 cents, or 0.40 per cent, at $49.25 on 401,713 shares. The company's nearly seven-year European venture is coming to an end after the Canadian cheese giant announced plans Monday to close cheese processing plants in Wales and Germany. The Montreal-based food company entered the European market in 2006 with the acquisition of Spezialitäten-Käserei De Lucia GmbH, a German cheese manufacturer producing Italian cheese specialties such as mozzarella, ricotta and mascarpone.
