Two local scouts were recognized for their hard work and dedication.

Leon Stubley, aged 17, and Ruben Jones, 16, who are both in Grade 11, received the Queen Venture Award from Lt.-Gov. Judith Guichon.

“These are the first two ventures to achieve this award from our group,” said Jeremy Stubley of the Fourth Squamish Venture Company in an email. “Please join us in congratulating them.”

The pair, who are from the local Venture Company, led scouts in community projects and have run the Cub pack this year as joint Akela.

Recently, they organised all the youth sections of 4th Squamish Scouts to garden last week at local seniors home Hilltop House as part of Good Turn Week.
