A fire that was reported near Garibaldi Lake has been quickly snuffed out.

Located by the barrier lookout, the flames were suspected to be man-made.

It was estimated to be about 0.01 hectares, which is slightly over 1,000 square feet.

Fire crews were dispatched to take care of the blaze last night, and followed up once again this morning.

The flames have been completely extinguished, said fire information officer Paula Mackay.

She said the fire was reported quickly by someone passing by, allowing authorities to react immediately.
