Assault, woman arrested, residential B&E and mischief in this week's briefs

Assault

A 57-year-old Squamish man was arrested for assaulting a 60-year-old man on Thursday, Jan. 22 at a home in the 4500 block of Paradise Valley Road, according to Squamish RCMP.

Woman arrested

Police said they arrested a 36-year-old Squamish woman for assaulting a 48-year-old man on Sunday, Jan. 25, at about 10:30 a.m. at a home in the 40000 block of Government Road.

Residential B&E

A 35-year-old man faces break and enter and breach of probation charges after a break-in at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of McNamee Place, police said.

On Saturday, Jan. 24 at about 6 a.m. police responded to a report of a break-in. The suspect left a bicycle at the scene, according to RCMP. Police said a detailed description from a witness matched a man carrying a black duffel bag who ran out of the building when they arrived. The breach of probation charge stemmed from the suspect carrying break-in tools, among other items, contrary to a probation order, police reported.

Mischief

According to police, a patio window of a home on Kelvin Grove Way was shattered sometime between Sunday, Jan. 18 and Tuesday, Jan. 20. The incident may have been an attempted break and enter that was thwarted by a large attentive dog in the home. Nothing was stolen in the incident.

Anyone who has any information relating to any crime is encouraged to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
