Have you seen this man? RCMP are looking for him in Squamish.

It was a happy ending to a week-long search that was beginning to look desperate.

On Saturday, the Squamish RCMP announced Matthew Ohman, who had been reported missing more than a week earlier on Sept. 15, had been found safe shortly before noon and had been reunited with his family.

The Squamish Nation member and father of two children had last been seen by Jacelynne Joseph entering a wooded area off Axen Reserve on Friday.

Joseph said she was overwhelmed at how friends, family and strangers rallied to help find Ohman. The RCMP too gave a shout out to all those who helped in the search.

“The Squamish RCMP would like to take this opportunity to thank all volunteers and emergency personnel who participated in the searches which led to this great outcome.”
