It will make for an easier transition for Quest University students who opt to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies at Capilano University in North Vancouver.

A new agreement between Quest and Cap means Quest students with appropriate prerequisites will be able to transfer into the third year of Capilano University’s Bachelor of Arts with a major in Liberal Studies.

“Students who wish to transfer to Capilano University should be able to do so seamlessly and this is a good step in that direction,” says George Iwama, Quest University Canada’s president and vice-chancellor.

The agreement with Quest will begin on Sept. 1.

Capilano University is currently reviewing and renewing the approximately 100 agreements it holds with institutions in B.C., Canada and internationally, according to a press release from that university.

“As a university with programming that serves the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, it’s important to strengthen our relationship with Quest to provide more opportunities for students in our region,” says Toran Savjord, acting president of Capilano University.

SavJord was formerly vice president, operations and development/recreation and athletics for Quest. He also previously worked for Squamish’s Cornerstone Developments.

“As mobility increases and we see students from around the globe interested in studying at Capilano University, the number of memorandums of understanding is likely to increase,” says Savjord.
