A Squamish man was sentenced to four years in prison on Monday after he was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference of a person under 16.

Shane Anthony Morrow was released on bail in December of 2015 and in May pleaded guilty in North Vancouver court to a charge of sexual assault.

Morrow formerly taught karate in Squamish at the Seiwa Kai Squamish Karate school out of Brennan Park Recreation Centre.

Morrow must also submit a DNA sample, will be placed on the National Sex Offender Registry and is not allowed to own a firearm for 10 years. A third charge is under a publication ban.
