Beware of coyotes and wolves in Brackendale. The District, BC Conservation Officer Service and WildSafeBC  issued a wildlife alert Monday afternoon due to current wildlife activity on the Ray Peters Trail network.

“Wolves are actively hunting within the trail network and there have been sightings of coyotes and pups within the area,” reads the alert.

“Dogs are prey for coyotes and wolves. Dogs have been stalked recently in the area, and there are concerns that injuries may result.”

Humans are not usually at risk from these animals, but it is best to avoid the area entirely with dogs.

Signs have been posted around the trails warning of the alert.
