Trailer, raft stolen from hotel parking lot

Squamish RCMP were busy last week.

On Friday (April 4), Squamish RCMP received a report that a raft and trailer were stolen from the parking lot of a hotel in the 40000 block of Tantalus Road.
The theft occurred sometime between 9 and 10:20 p.m., RCMP Sgt. Wayne Pride wrote in a statement. The raft is a 15-foot aluminum-framed Maravia Williwaw II, while the trailer is 10 feet long, black, with white rims and a wooden deck.
Remnants of the raft were recovered dumped at the end of Mamquam Road, near Garibaldi Park Way, on Saturday
(April 5). The aluminum frame and deflated hull were found discarded down an embankment, police said. The trail has not been located.


Scooter stolen
On Tuesday (April 1), police received a report of a grey-and-silver Ecoped Pulse electric scooter having been stolen from a home in the 39000 block of Government Road. The theft occurred sometime between Monday (March 31) at 6 p.m. and April 1 at 9 a.m. A chain securing the scooter had been cut. The scooter was recovered on Saturday (April 5) on the railway tracks at the end of No Name Road, near Edgewater Drive. The scooter’s battery and motor had been removed, Pride said.


Items taken from van
On Tuesday (April 1), police received a report that a silver Dodge van from Washington State had been broken into while parked in the Shannon Falls Provincial Park parking lot. The incident occurred between 1 and 2 p.m. A window had been smashed to gain entry. Stolen were passports, credit and bank cards, personal identification, jewelry, sunglasses,Sony and Nikon cameras, an HP17 computer, Volkl skis and a pair of Lang ski boots. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at $8,000.


Wire, pipe stolen
On Wednesday (April 2), police received a report that 25 feet of copper wire had been stolen from an insecure part of an underground parking lot in the 1200 block of Village Green Way. The theft occurred sometime between March 29 and 31.
On Friday (April 4), police received a report that copper piping had been stolen from the same underground parking lot. Stolen were approximately 80 feet of one-inch copper pipe and 60 feet of two-inch copper pipe. Police are examining surveillance video as part of their investigation into the thefts.


Vehicle vandalized
On Wednesday (April 2), police received a report that a red Ford van was broken into while parked in a carport in the 38000 block of Chestnut Avenue sometime during the previous two weeks. The rear seats were slashed and sprayed with green paint. The vehicle may have been left unlocked, Pride said.

Phone taken
On Thursday (April 3), another vehicle was reported to have been broken into, this one while parked along Southview Place in Lions Bay.
The black Toyota Rav4 sport-utility vehicle had been left unsecured and a Samsung Galaxy cell phone valued at approximately $300 was stolen. No damage was done to the vehicle and nothing else
was stolen.
