Weston meets with national foreign affairs minister

On Tuesday, July 8, a crowd of a hundred people attended a discussion meeting with Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The event was organised by Sea to Sky Country MP John Weston. Minister John Baird and Weston discussed the latest developments on several aspects of international policies. Baird has been a prominent supporter of free trade as Canada has reached agreements with 43 countries, ramping up from 5 since the previous administration, stated a press release by Weston’s office. 

“John Weston has worked to apply both his experience – and the experience of his constituents – to key international issues like the Pacific Rim file, tourism, and the economy,” Baird stated.

Canada’s  foreign policies support Canadian values at home and abroad while building a strong and prosperous economy for people in West Vancouver – Sunshine Coast – Sea to Sky Country, Weston said.  

“This peace and prosperity enables Canadian companies like Seaspan to thrive and innovate,” he noted. “Minister Baird showed a strong stand on human rights in Iran and we are thankful for providing us an opportunity for dialogue among the Iranian community leader
in Canada.”
