Britannia Mine Museum honoured again
The Britannia Mine Museum's recent, $14.7 million upgrade has been recognized with another award — this one for “sustainable development” from the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM).

Microscapes: Minerals Beyond the Naked Eye showcases how beautiful rocks can look in thin section, which is a technique for identifying rocks.
When rocks are ground down thinner than a sheet of paper you can shine light through them. Polarized light is used as a way of revealing beautiful colours and patterns, allowing the minerals to be identified.
This is a photo exhibit that is part science, part art and all amazing.
Located in the historic Machine Shop. Free for members or with regular admission, on now until June 15th.
