Glenne Campbell

Brackendale has been in Glenne’s heart for 42 years. She has lived in Brackendale for 18 years with her son. She believes that her soul mate delivered them to Brackendale for well-being and peace as he was called to cross over from cancer in 2003.
She learned of the many angels this town provides and has always felt an obligation to return the care.

She has travelled far and wide for business and culture while calling Squamish her home base. She is happy to say that she has pre-tired her business to take up public service in a greater capacity. She now calls Squamish ‘Home’.

She has been involved as a volunteer in Squamish on many occasions, with various organizations, in support of building community.

She has taken on volunteer leadership roles with Brackendale Fall Fair, Brackendale Relevant Film Festival, Brackendale Eagle Festival, the Brackendale Elementary School spring carnival, BOATA, Between Shifts Theatre, Caloc Hostesses, District of Squamish Economic Development office - Film, and the Squamish Film Collective.
She has also participated as a volunteer with Test of Metal, Squamish Arts Council, District of Squamish Natural Risk Management Plan, DOS Employable Lands Survey, and feeding of numerous workers at the Judd Slough Pump houses during the flood of 2003. To Glenne, volunteering is always an opportunity to meet new folks and create a memory.
Her career experience has been in the creative industries sector doing costume design in theatre and motion pictures. She attained high regard for her work as costume designer on Battlestar Galactica, filmed in Vancouver. She considers her swan song to be her design work on Outlander, filmed in Scotland. She encouraged DOS to upgrade its position in the film industry. With as much joi de vivre, she costumed the local BST production of Princess Bride. The well-experienced skill set includes aesthetic, technical, management, financial, public relations all in a team environment.

During the 40 years of creative industry engagement, she also succeeded with her partner in building Canada’s first all composite aircraft, a Burt Rutan design Varieze. At airshows all over North America, they were honored with Grand Champion recognition and gave many workshops on constructing composite aircraft.

It is with this activity in aviation that she has developed clarity of vision from the ten thousand foot perspective. She sees Squamish as unique with its own set of challenges, yet consistently staking a place of acceptance in the ever-changing world.
She wishes to support the path of exploration and adventure that Squamish offers its people.

She looks forward to further development of this wonderful town and believes with the right team in office, the next phase of Squamish can continue mobilizing to becoming a world-class destination with the four pillars of culture, environment, social, and economy approach.

She believes when we give back, we give forward.
