Nanaimo RCMP looking for man who overstayed visa

Nanaimo RCMP are looking for a 26-year-old man who is wanted on a Canada-wide immigration warrant for overstaying his visa in Canada. Investigators have confirmed that Romey O’Neill was in Nanaimo on Nov.

Nanaimo RCMP are looking for a 26-year-old man who is wanted on a Canada-wide immigration warrant for overstaying his visa in Canada.

Investigators have confirmed that Romey O’Neill was in Nanaimo on Nov. 13 when he rented a vehicle from a local car rental agency, said Nanaimo RCMP spokesman Const. Gary O’Brien. The vehicle rented, a 2020 blue Kia Forte sedan with B.C. licence plate JW690D, was never returned and has been reported as stolen.

When renting the vehicle, O’Neill was dropped off by a woman driving a white Mitsubishi Lancer.

O’Neill is associated with residences in Bowser, Quadra Island and Cortes Island. He is a white, six-foot-two, 160 pounds, and has brown hair and green eyes.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file # 2020-43134.
