Sea to Sky Singers and local artists collaborate for a "Paint Me a Song" weekend

Squamish's adult choir is preparing for a weekend of collaborative concert events that are sure to be a treat for the ears and the eyes.

Paint Me a Song marries the voices of the Sea to Sky Singers with the talents of local visual artists.

There will be live painting by Toby Jaxon, Kate Drexler, and Rebecca Mulberry as the choir performs. 

"Audience members will delight in watching the works develop as they listen," says musical director Veronica McPhee in a news release about the event.

The resulting paintings will be sold in a live auction at the events, with proceeds going to the artists. There will also be interactive art projects hosted by Squamish art supply store Up With Art and a chance for audience members to find their creative side.

"The show offers something for everyone with songs from a variety of genres including musical theatre, classical, pop, jazz, and more, all which focus on Art and Colour," McPhee said.

Saturday, April 21 the show starts at 7:30 p.m. while the Sunday show kicks off at 2 p.m.

For Sunday, tickets are pay what you can at the door. 

Both concerts take place at the Brackendale Art Gallery.
