It aims to put the 'fun' in fundraiser.

The 4th annual Cheekye BBQ Music Fundraiser for the Squamish Children's Festival is on Sunday, July 28 in the Squamish Valley.

This year's Squamish Children’s Festival has been postponed due to board and committee restructuring, however, organizers are hosting this mini children’s festival and fundraiser for it.

The main festival will be returning at the end of June 2020 with Charlotte Diamond performing and another, soon to be announced, headliner. It will also include a splash zone waterpark with waterslides, and lots of fun new activities, according to Elena Butler, owner of Garibaldi Window Screens Ltd, who is promoting the event.

The mini children’s festival portion this Sunday, July 28, runs from noon to 5 p.m. There will be a barbecue sponsored by Squamish's Nesters Market and an evening of live music by Laurence Grogan and Friends, Will Ross, and The Hairfarmers.

In addition to live music, activities for adults include Frisbee golf, prize draws, a silent auction, a propane fire pit, vendors and more.

Activities for children include a playground with two 12-foot slides, two waterslides, a trampoline, bouncy castle, face painting, vendors and games.

Space is available for tents and campers.

Gates open at noon at 1100 Fernwood Rd.

All proceeds will go to the Squamish Children’s Festival Society to plan next year's free festival.
