With the population growing and more births at Squamish General Hospital, new moms are getting some extra help.

A Medela double hospital-grade breast pump has been added to the maternity ward thanks to the teamwork of the Squamish community.

Local doula Kimberly Daniels realized the need for a new pump, and coordinated fundraising. The Squamish Hospital Foundation raised money for the pump, along with photographer Vairdy Frail who held mini sessions using space donated by Rosanne Scarth at Norman Rudy’s.

Kim Lacombe at Squamish Savings set up the donation process and the Squamish Hospital Foundation contributed funds as well.
