‘Jacob's Drive' Supercar Charity event rolls into Squamish

Ever imagine what it would be like to drive a supercar?

Well, this weekend you can get up close and personal with some of the most expensive cars there are and support a boy in need at the same time.

A fleet of Driven Project supercars will drive up the Sea to Sky Highway from Parq Casino in Vancouver to Chances Casino in town on Sunday at about 12:30 p.m.

The Driven Project will donate 100 per cent of the event's proceeds to Children's Wish Foundation, BC and Yukon Chapter, which is going to fulfill Jacob Bredenhof's wish for a dream trip of a river cruise through Europe. The teenager has osteosarcoma in his femur.

"Faced with a brutal and long treatment plan, Jacob soon learned he would lose most of his leg.  The once-talented basketball player received a rotationplasty in October 2018. Jacob hasn't walked in over nine months and has spent over 170 nights so far away from home with his mom since last June," reads a news release about the event.

Drivers also offer free supercar rides to kids experiencing illnesses.
