Squamish Christmas light tour set for Dec. 16

Yes, it is slightly disappointing that no one in Squamish lights up their house like the Griswold family’s home in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989), but some locals do know how to make their abodes look festive.

Yes, it is slightly disappointing that no one in Squamish lights up their house like the Griswold family’s home in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989), but some locals do know how to make their abodes look festive.

To catch all the lit-up greatness, head out on the traditional lights bus tour on Sunday, Dec. 16, hosted by BC Transit and the District of Squamish.

The tour runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with BC Transit buses picking up passengers at 5:30 p.m. from Shannon Falls Retirement Home, The Manor, The Cedars, and Eagle Grove lobby. Hot chocolate and doughnuts will be served as a special holiday treat from Squamish transit operators.

Who knows, maybe Squamish has its own — though likely much more environmental — Clark Griswold just waiting to be discovered?
