Pumpkin patch in the park

Stan Clarke Park in downtown transforms into a pumpkin patch once again.

Kids games, treats, music, face painting and more.  Come in costume!

Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Funds from pumpkin sales are going to Under One Roof of Helping Hands.

 

World Music at Quest University

The Allos Musica Ensemble will host a workshop and performance at Quest University.

Featuring instrumentals from a variety of cultures.

Session begins at 4:30 p.m., concert at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 23.

 

Stand up comedy

Headliner James Kennedy, featuring Kevin Von Helvete.

Squamish’s Kelly Dyer will host.

At Norman Rudy’s on Oct. 18 at 8 p.m.

 

Take a hike!

Squamish has some of the most prolific hiking and walking groups that you can find in any community.

With three clubs dedicated to trekking through the outdoors, you’ll find plenty to do if getting around on two feet is your preferred method of transportation.

 

 

- Over the Hill Hikers meet this week on Oct. 23 for a walk at Gondola/Petgill Trail. The group will meet at the Gondola at 9:30 a.m. All-day hike. Details at 604-815-8561.

 

- The Tantalus Walking Group will hike this week on Oct. 23 at Amblepath. Meet at the Dog Pound.

They’ll also be walking on Oct. 25. There will be two choices: either meet at the Adventure Centre for a walk to Brennan Park or at the bottom of the Sea to Sky Gondola for a ride up to hike the trails above. Contact Joyce for details on 604-898-5594. All walks start at 10 a.m.

 

- The Friday Morning Walking Group will have a stroll at the Dog Pound on Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. More info at 604-815-0152.
