A person working in Burnaby has tested positive for COVID-19.

Coast Mountain Bus Company said in a news release that it was told by public health officials that two employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

The first is an employee working out of the Burnaby Transit Centre.

“This employee’s workspace, which was identified by public health officials, has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected,” said a news release.

The second case is an employee working out of the Port Coquitlam Transit Centre. Public health officials have not identified the employee involved in this case. However, a Port Coquitlam Bus Operator has disclosed to CMBC that they tested positive for COVID-19, said the news release.

“These employees have our full support and we wish them a speedy recovery,” said the release. “British Columbia has very strict privacy laws and whether to disclose any further details on these cases would be a matter for the Provincial Health Officer.”
