NDP announce Sea to Sky riding candidate

Lawyer Judith Wilson to run in Oct. 21 federal election

Judith Wilson is the NDP candidate for West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky country riding in the 2019 federal election.

Another candidate has stepped forward for the West Coast-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky country riding.

On Sept. 17, the NDP announced Sunshine Coast-based lawyer Judith Wilson as the party's candidate.

A resident of Langdale, Wilson practices family law. A press release says she has been active in local politics since the 1980s, fighting against fish farms on the Sechelt Inlet and later serving as a school trustee for School District 46.

Some might also recognize Wilson as a candidate for the NDP during the 2006 federal election.

Thirteen years later, she's running again.

"I believe that government's job is to make life better for all citizens, and that every election is an opportunity to move forward on that goal. Today I am proud to be a member of an NDP with an environmental policy that is ‘greener than the greens' and a plan to get Canadians ‘head to toe' medical coverage," Wilson said the press release.

Also running in the West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky country riding for the 2019 federal election are — in order of announcement — the Conservatives' Gabrielle Loren, the Green Party's Dana Taylor, the People's Party of Canada's Robert "Doug" Bebb, the Rhinoceros Party’s Gordon Jeffrey and the Liberal's Patrick Weiler. The election will be on Oct. 21.
