Ditch drive

Police impounded a driver's vehicle on Feb. 2 after paramedics alerted officers that a vehicle was in the ditch and the driver seemed intoxicated.

The driver then failed two Squamish RCMP alcohol breath tests. The vehicle was impounded, and the driver was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Driving too fast

While BC Highway Patrol was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 99 on Feb. 3, officers pulled over the driver of a pickup truck travelling southbound doing 156 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone. The driver received a ticket and the vehicle was towed.

Two vehicles stolen/ recovered

Squamish RCMP responded to two separate reports of vehicles stolen from different homes in the 200-block of Kelvin Grove Way, in Lions Bay, between Feb. 6 and the early morning of Feb. 7. Both vehicles were recovered. One was recovered in Surrey with the assistance of Surrey RCMP, and the other vehicle was found in Langley with the assistance of Langley RCMP.

Did you see anything?

A black four-door Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 37000-block of Second Avenue on Feb. 7. 

Police ask anyone with any information or video surveillance regarding this vehicle to contact the police or phone crime stoppers.
