In memoriam: Janice Pires (née Owen)

Janice lived a life full of gratitude and humility and could disarm anyone with her quirky sense of humour.
Janice Pires

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Janice Pires (née Owen) announces her passing on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the Peace Arch Hospice, surrounded by her family.

Janice was the beloved wife to her soulmate Steven Pires, her husband of 48 years, and adored time spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth and loving soul. She lived a life full of gratitude and humility and could disarm anyone with her quirky sense of humour, quick smile and a cup of tea.

Janice was born in Powell River on August 25, 1953. She is survived by her loving husband Steven, daughters Jessica (Jim) Payn and Abbey (Dan) Pires, son Jordan (Claire) Pires, sisters Betty (Bill) Owen, Marilyn Embree and Susan (Jim) Walker, and beloved grandchildren Jackson, Kate, Kyla, Ella and baby Quincy.

Janice was predeceased by her parents Ronald and Eva (née Mason) Owen and brother-in-law Doug Embree. Donations in her memory can be made to the BC Cancer Agency in her name, if desired.

May she bring as much joy into the next world as she brought into this one.
