Cyclist hit in Richmond's city centre

Paramedics took a cyclist to hospital after an accident on Granville Avenue.

A cyclist was taken to hospital Monday around mid-day after being hit by a car in Richmond's city centre area.

According to BC Emergency Health Services, a call came in at 11:48 a.m. for someone hit in the 8100 block of Granville Avenue, close to the Granville Avenue Petro Canada gas station.

BCEHS told the Richmond News that the cyclist was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A Richmond News reader said he saw a man on the ground with a bike beside him and a neckbrace on.

A car that appeared to be involved in the accident had a smashed windshield.
