Man arrested after shooting at Prince George business

Prince George RCMP have a suspect in custody, following reports of a man shooting at the windows of a business in Parkwood Shopping Centre with a handgun on Thursday morning.

The report came in at 9:40 a.m. and officers flooded into the area. Witnesses identified the suspect, who was walking away from the area, to members of the RCMP Downtown Safety Unit, who took the suspect into custody.

A search of the suspect revealed a concealed handgun-shaped pellet gun.
“Only five minutes elapsed from the time police received the initial call to the time a suspect was arrested,” Prince George RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer

Cooper said in a press release. “This is another excellent example of cohesive work by both frontline police and Downtown Safety Unit members who are committed to holding those responsible for violent crime accountable and ensuring the safety of our community.”

The suspect is well-known to police for similar incidents and will remain in custody while police forward charges against the man.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
