Richmond Centre for Disability is asking people to post photos on their Instagram page about connections

The Richmond Centre for Disability (RCD) is calling for people to enter their Instagram photos into a new contest with a theme of “connection” for the month of March.

From March 1 to 26, photos that display connection or a sense of connection with people or things around you will be posted on RCD’s Instagram every day.

According to RCD, “different forms of connection will be explored, mainly focused on people, community, and nature.”

And there will be prizes for the winners with the most “likes,” including a $50 Moxie’s gift card and RCD t-shirts.

“I'd like to use this contest as an opportunity to engage RCD members and the community in an enjoyable and interactive event, using a widely accessible social media platform, Instagram,” said RCD’s contest organiser Bernice Au-Yeung.

“As a photographer myself, I really enjoy photographing a variety of subjects and sharing photos with those around me.

“I hope people participating in this event can also share the same happiness as me when they take photos and share them with RCD and the community.”

RCD decided to kick off the Instagram contest given that so many opportunities to connect, that people take for granted, have been denied due to the pandemic, and in-person gatherings with family, friends, and colleagues have been replaced with video chats or phone calls.
