Police were investigating two stabbings in the Ironwood area on Nov. 16.

The man accused of aggravated assault in two stabbings at an Ironwood business two weeks ago will appear in court on Tuesday.

Andrew Patrick Weymes was in court briefly Monday for a bail hearing, but instead a Richmond Provincial Court judge asked him to come back Tuesday to fix a date for a hearing.

On Nov. 16, police swarmed an area on No. 5 Road south of Steveston Highway. Two people had been stabbed in a business that police said the suspect was “associated” with.

Weymes had fled before Richmond RCMP arrived but was later arrested on Highway One in Abbotsford without incident.

The two victims were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Weymes is charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

Richmond RCMP put out an appeal last week asking the public for more information.

Anyone who may have witnessed or might have information - including dashcam or video surveillance footage – of the incident is asked to call Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file #2022-31532.
