Whistlerites in motion: Marielle Thompson helps make ski cross history

Freestyle skiers Jordan Peet, Maya Mikkelsen and Lynette Conn are bringing home three more Canada Winter Games medals

Welcome to your weekly recap of Sea to Sky athletes and their exploits. In case you missed it, a Whistlerite has written her name into the record books.

Marielle Thompson joined forces with fellow BC Olympian Reece Howden to win the first mixed team ski cross silver medal in FIS World Championships history.

Jordan Peet of Freestyle Whistler won her second Canada Winter Games medal in slopestyle.

Shortly afterwards, Maya Mikkelsen and Lynette Conn added two more medals on the moguls course.

Elsewhere, Brenden Kelly of Pemberton managed a top-15 moguls result as Mikael Kingsbury became an eight-time world champion.

The Whistler Sliding Centre (WSC) is set to host the Canadian Luge Championships on March 4 and 5.

Soldier On is back in Whistler with another edition of the Allied Winter Sports Camp for ill and injured military service members.

And while she didn't reach the podium, Sea to Sky cross-country skier Marlie Molinaro notched a respectable fifth-place finish at the Canada Winter Games.
