This summer Vancouver’s Hastings Racecourse will be a flood with corgi craze as a pack of the pint-sized pooches race to the finish line.

Corgi Races take place June 22 and 23 and offer spectators the chance to view adorable canine competitions free of charge. The winning pooch will walk away with $500 in prize money and a Bosleys’ prize pack.

After making their Hastings Racecourse debut last year, the corgis will return with races in between live horse racing, which begins at 1:15 p.m.

The event will also offer food trucks, craft beer and live music trackside all afternoon long.

The petite dogs have grown in popularity since they became the breed of choice by her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace many years ago. Now, they are beloved across the globe as sweet, loyal canine companions with an utterly adorable gait.
