North Vancouver RCMP are asking the public to help identify a suspect after a woman reported being sexually assaulted in her Upper Capilano home.
According to police, the woman was home during around 12:45 p.m. on Feb. 27 when a man knocked on the door and asked to use her washroom. She let him inside and the man assaulted her, police say.
Police describe the man as white, standing five-foot-10 and weighting approximately 190 pounds, with a stocky build. They estimate he is in his late 30s or early 40s. Investigators released a composite sketch of the man in hopes someone will recognize him and step forward.
“Police have not received any additional information that would cause them to believe there is a risk to the safety of the general public. However, police wish to take this opportunity to remind people not to allow strangers into their homes,” a statement from the RCMP read.
Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1911.
