Stolen Bikes

Bikes were stolen from Walmart and the Mountain Retreat Hotel.

The first bike is described as an orange Norco Storm youth mountain bike with yellow writing. 

The second bike is a green DH Brodie mountain bike.

Police are asking the public for information on the incident.

 

Turkeys killed

Fifteen turkeys were killed on a property up the Squamish Valley Road on July 26.

RCMP say the birds were likely slain by an animal, but the cause of death has yet to be determined.

 

Hiker rescued

Lions Bay and North Shore rescuers saved a hiker on July 27.

The hiker was lost on Howe Sound Crest Trail and had fallen down a crevasse. 

Crews were able to safely long line the man from the area uninjured.

 

Kayaks stolen

Police say two 17-foot kayaks were stolen from a storage container on Government Road.

The kayaks were made by Riot. One is orange and the other is green.

Police say there have been a number of thefts of kayaks in Squamish and Lions Bay over the past few months.

Officers are asking anyone who knows about the incident to contact the Squamish RCMP.
